Move up to Batalha and visit one of the most beautiful monasteries in portugal "O Mosteiro de Santa Maria da Vitória” ( The Monastery of Santa Maria's Victory ), classified by UNESCO as world heritage and on the Seventh of July 2007 one of the seven wonders of portugal, this majestic monument is the most important exilibris of the region.
This monastery was born from the vow made by D. John I to  Santa Maria da Vitória to celebrate the success of the castelhanas troops in battle of Aljubarrota on August 14 of 1385.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Alcobaça

Alcobaça grew around a Arabic castle and then a Christian monastery: between the two, a tangle of streets with ornament aspect of medieval churches such as  Misericórdia and Nossa Senhora da Conceição,, reminds us of its ancient history. As the largest church in Portugal, the Mosteiro de Santa Maria de Alcobaça displays a medieval architecture simple and elegant: it was founded in 1178 by the Cistercian Order of the vote done to meet the country's first king, D. Afonso Henriques, who wanted to donate to these monks an imposing abbey.
The city has a rich architectural because of it's past history. Abbey
 of Alcobaça was classified as world heritage by UNESCO (1989), this monastery is one of the greatest monuments of the world, on July 7, 2007 was elected as one of the seven wonders of Portugal.
Alcobaça is well known for its handicrafts and food. In the Craft Sector can emphasize the tapestries, ceramics, rods and olarias. The gastronomy alcobasense is by ventura, the more tempting the region. The presence of religious orders of the monastery of Alcobaça and convent of Cós, have brought  to date convent sweets that continue to delight many visitors that the county receives annualy, highlighting as example the trouxas de ovos, delícias de Frei João, pudim de ovos of the monastery of Alcobaça.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Nazaré

Undoubtedly one of the most popular beaches of the west coast, Nazaré is also one of the most mystical and traditional fishing villages, where can be found some women dressed in the traditional dresses of seven skirts, to take care of the fish that dry in the sun aligned by the beach.
The beach is completely integrated in the urban area and surrounded by  houses on  the  marginal, retains the traditional caracters of the tents with colored stripes. Surrounded by a sea translucent, usually strong and with some strong waves, is ideal for surf and bodyboard.

São Martinho do Porto

Foz do Arelho

 
8km of Caldas da Rainha,  Foz do Arelho has a number of attractions that make this place unique.
A paradise beach , composed by a lagoon and sea, it's a place where nature offered us with their exceptional therapeutic qualities and an extensive beach, place for surfers, calm waters of the lagoon, a charm for children.

Caldas da Rainha
 

Caldas da Rainha is aThermal city, founded at the end of the fifteenth century by Queen Leonor, wife of King John II. In fact, the cures,  hospital ternmal is undoubtedly one of the major tourist attractions. It also offers varied proposals, from the typical daily fruit market through a heritage museum (Malhoa museum - where it exposes the work of the Portuguese master - and San Rafael House Museum, a museum of ceramics and sculpture in museums) making the city a important cultural center. It is also a major ceramic centers of the country. In gastronomy, the influences of culture convent, the trouxas, the lampreys of eggs and the famous cavacas are references of wealth, cultural identity and uniqueness of the city.
The tourism is also formed by the beautiful beach of Foz do Arelho, located at the confluence of Lagoa de Óbidos with the sea. The lake has been more extensive, reaching even to the walls of Obidos. Ideal for water sports such as sailing, kitesurf and windsurf.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Óbidos
 

The medieval town of Obidos, one of the treasures of the West and of our country, because of  points that interest tourists it deserves to be visited.
The medieval town is a real living museum, affectionately preserved through the ages, high and secure walls, its esplended castle, winding streets, the churches and the majestic traditional houses, makes this town something unique and unforgettable.

Baleal
 

The Baleal is constituted by 2 beaches, North Beach and South Beach.On the south beach you may take delicious calm baths with the sea relatively calm.  The north beach well known among surfers being one of the characteristics the rough sea. With a large stretch of beach, this is one of the many beaches on the coast of Peniche with a very special natural beauty. This beach has been awarded with blue flag and has good support on the beach. Peniche
 

The county has many points of interest: beyond a crucial visit to the Fortaleza Museum, it is imperative to know the churches of this county, each with its wealth and architectural beauty. This is the highlight of Misericórdia in Peniche, Nossa Senhora da Ajuda, Santuário dos Remedios and São Pedro. The handicrafts, real ex-libris of the city, is the renda of bilros its highest expression.
Peniche offers yet  numerous of beaches (Baleal, Consolaçaõ, Supertubos, São Bernardino, etc.). Of unusual beauty ideal for surfing and other water sports and the only maritime nature reserve: the Berlenga island.

Lourinhã
